Arduous Ascent

written by Louisa January 18, 2017

It’s a slow and arduous ascent to achieve your dreams. Somewhere along the way (surely I can not be alone) I feel discouraged, I experience setbacks, I wonder, ‘is this worth it?,’ or further still, ‘is this even my dream?’ I believe that we each have a purpose on this earth, with God-given gifts and talents assigned to us to be shared, not withheld. I believe that the idea of having gifts is not meant to just be for ourselves, but to share them with others so they can learn something from us (or most often so that we can learn something from them).

This is me sharing my gifts. Cilene is a beautiful “fresh face” at Americana Models. Cilene, along with MUA Liz Schroeder, were both patient and accommodating as I worked through my doubts, fears, and struggles of working with studio light. I’m still not at the peak of my mountaintop but I know I’m going to keep climbing. Metaphors aside, this shoot was definitely a lesson learned for me — I’m still not where I’d like to be and for now, I’m learning to be okay with that.
